Melee

This is the most basic form of combat in Darkfall, and is the roal most must take, especially at the very beginning of the game since it costs little and is affordable. While melee is a little easier for you to make money, it is limited within a small range. That is apparently a shortcoming. Range varies due to weapon types, for instance, polearms reach further than daggers.
The perspective will change into the 3rd-person viewpoint when you draw out your melee weapon. Then your view is limited to the area in front of you. So in such a situation, it is a tactic to bypass to the behind of someone and attack. This is works quite well but is not allowed in other MMOs. In Darkfall this is necessary for there is no such skills as "stealth" which would make a character turn invisible. In Darkfall you can spin your viewpoint only when you are at rest.
The key T may shift your attacks between two main types: horizontal slash and vertical chop. These attacks produce the same effects, but each applies more suitably to certain situations. The horizontal slash can touch the target more easly for its wild range, which however, does not very much works in a team battle. On the contray, a vertical chop with a narrow range works better in such a confused situation for it has a less possibility of hurting nearby allies.
